Product Information
Genuine Silver Leaf. The silver leaf is beaten mechanically by machines through thousands of repetitions, mauling it to a thin layer of silver.
Other uses of genuine silver leaf
Silver leaf is applied in interior design (decorating walls), exterior renovation such as domes in churches, figurines, furniture restorations, signage, signboards, photo frames, mirrors, scrapbooking, and other craftwork.
Genuine, not imitation silver leaf
Genuine Silver Metal Leaf is made with 100% pure silver. There are other metal leaves out on the market that are called “silverleaf” because of their appearance, but they are in fact aluminum, and have ZERO silver in them. The industrial term for these leaves is called imitation silver leaf. These leaves are used for mass production of furniture and frames. The aluminum leaf has less luster, and has a “whiter” metallic look than the genuine silver—genuine silver has a warmer color tone.
Please note that genuine silver will change color over time. So if one is to use this product, it is necessary to varnish with a protective coating. Artists sometimes prefer the oxidized effects of the leaf and use it as part of its design.
Larger silver leaf sheets than typical
Please also note that our leaves are industrial class silver sheets. The sizes are almost 4 times as large as other leaf sheets you see on the internet (usually their size is 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ but it is claimed to be approximately 2″ x 2″).

I’ve been watching furniture restoration videos for months and finally decided to try silver leafing on a beat-up dresser I found at a thrift store. These sheets worked perfectly for adding decorative accents to the drawer pulls and edges. The key is having everything ready before you start – adhesive, brushes, sealer – because once you begin you can’t really stop. I did have some issues with static making the sheets stick to everything, but a damp cloth nearby helped. The dresser now looks like something from a high-end furniture store and I spent maybe $40 total. Highly recommend!

I make resin coasters and jewelry and wanted to try embedding silver leaf for a luxury look. These worked perfectly! I cut small pieces and layered them into my resin pours. The sheets are super thin which actually works great for resin because they don’t create as many bubbles as thicker foils would. My only tip is to seal them well because any exposed edges will tarnish over time. The effect is stunning though – customers at craft fairs are always drawn to the pieces with silver leaf. Will be ordering more.

My daughter used this for her high school art portfolio and her teacher was really impressed. We practiced on cardboard first which I’d recommend. The leaf is super thin so you have to be gentle but that’s kind of the point. She created this mixed media piece with silver accents and it genuinely looked professional. The sheets are interleaved with tissue paper which helps keep them from sticking together. For the price, you get a decent amount to work with even accounting for some waste while you’re learning.

I teach middle school art and we used these for a project on illuminated manuscripts. The kids loved working with real metal leaf and the quality is perfect for teaching purposes. We had enough sheets in the pack to let each student try the technique multiple times. A few sheets tore when the kids handled them too roughly, but that’s to be expected with 12-year-olds! Overall really happy with this purchase and will definitely order again for future classes.

Takes practice to apply without tearing but looks incredible when done right.

Can’t complain. Looks silver, sticks to stuff. Good enough.

Been using silver leaf for years and this is good quality stuff at a fair price.

Works fine but be prepared for tiny silver bits everywhere. Wear dark clothes.
