Product Information
Genuine Silver Leaf. The silver leaf is beaten mechanically by machines through thousands of repetitions, mauling it to a thin layer of silver.
Other uses of genuine silver leaf
Silver leaf is applied in interior design (decorating walls), exterior renovation such as domes in churches, figurines, furniture restorations, signage, signboards, photo frames, mirrors, scrapbooking, and other craftwork.
Genuine, not imitation silver leaf
Genuine Silver Metal Leaf is made with 100% pure silver. There are other metal leaves out on the market that are called “silverleaf” because of their appearance, but they are in fact aluminum, and have ZERO silver in them. The industrial term for these leaves is called imitation silver leaf. These leaves are used for mass production of furniture and frames. The aluminum leaf has less luster, and has a “whiter” metallic look than the genuine silver—genuine silver has a warmer color tone.
Please note that genuine silver will change color over time. So if one is to use this product, it is necessary to varnish with a protective coating. Artists sometimes prefer the oxidized effects of the leaf and use it as part of its design.
Larger silver leaf sheets than typical
Please also note that our leaves are industrial class silver sheets. The sizes are almost 4 times as large as other leaf sheets you see on the internet (usually their size is 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ but it is claimed to be approximately 2″ x 2″).

Exactly what I needed for my icon painting. Authentic looking and easy enough to work with once you develop a gentle touch. I’ve been doing religious iconography for about two years now and have tried a few different brands of metal leaf. This one is right in the middle quality-wise – not the absolute best I’ve used but definitely not the worst either, and the price point makes it a great value. The sheets separate easily from the backing paper and adhere well to properly prepared gesso surfaces.

Bought an ugly old mirror at a garage sale for $5 and used this silver leaf on the frame. Now it looks like something from a boutique! It took me most of a Saturday afternoon to complete because I wanted to be really careful with the application. I used the gilding adhesive recommended by another reviewer and let it get tacky before applying the leaf. Some areas came out perfectly smooth while others have a slightly crinkled texture, but honestly I think that adds to the vintage charm. My husband couldn’t believe it was the same mirror.

Not the absolute highest quality I’ve used but definitely good enough for most projects.

Applied this to a wooden jewelry box I was restoring for my daughter’s birthday. Took some practice to get the hang of it – the first few pieces I applied wrinkled a bit because I was too hasty. Once I slowed down and used a soft brush to smooth it out, the results were stunning. The silver has a lovely authentic look, not too shiny or fake looking. She absolutely loved the finished box and now I’m looking for more projects to use the rest of the sheets on.

Product is fine but fighting static while trying to apply these delicate sheets is frustrating. Maybe work on humid days?

Used these to add detail to an old picture frame and it looks amazing! A little delicate to work with but worth it.

I do hand bookbinding and this is perfect for edge gilding and cover decoration. Clean sheets, good size.

Much cheaper than gold leaf obviously and looks really classy on my project.

I made silver leaf table numbers for my daughter’s wedding and saved SO much money doing it myself instead of buying them from the fancy stationery place. I practiced on cardboard first which I highly recommend because my first few attempts were pretty rough. I used a foam brush to apply the adhesive size and waited until it was just tacky. The leaf went on smoothly after that. We did 15 table numbers plus a welcome sign and still have leaf left over. They photographed beautifully and several guests asked where we got them. Just make sure you work in a space with no air movement whatsoever.

Using this for resin art and it looks fantastic suspended in clear resin.
