Product Information
Genuine Silver leaf. The silver leaf is beaten mechanically by machines through thousands of repetitions, mauling it to a thin layer of silver.
Other uses of genuine silver leaf
Silver leaf is applied in interior design (decorating walls), exterior renovation such as domes in churches, figurines, furniture restorations, signage, signboards, photo frames, mirrors, scrapbooking, and other craftwork.
Genuine, not imitation silver leaf
Genuine Silver Metal Leaf is made with 100% pure silver. There are other metal leaves out on the market that are called “silver leaf” because of their appearance, but they are in fact aluminum, and have ZERO silver in them. The industrial term for these leaves is called imitation silver leaf. These leaves are used for mass production of furniture and frames. The aluminum leaf has less luster, and has a “whiter” metallic look than the genuine silver—genuine silver has a warmer color tone.
Please note that genuine silver will change color over time. So if one is to use this product, it is necessary to varnish with a protective coating. Artists sometimes prefer the oxidized effects of the leaf and use it as part of its design.
Larger silver leaf sheets than typical
Please also note that our leaves are industrial class silver sheets. The sizes are almost 4 times as large as other leaf sheets you see on the internet (usually their size is 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ but it is claimed to be approximately 2″ x 2″).

Used this to add silver details to some pottery I made and it fired beautifully in the kiln. Really pleased with how it turned out!
Rachel Green –
My mason jar vases turned out absolutely beautiful with this silver leaf on the rims!

I teach high school art and we did a unit on gilding techniques this semester. Ordered these for my advanced students to try silver leafing on small wooden boxes. The quality is decent for the price point and the kids were able to get good results even as beginners. A few sheets in the book were slightly wrinkled but it didn’t affect the final outcome much. Would definitely order again for classroom use since buying genuine silver leaf would blow my entire budget. The students loved seeing their projects transform with the metallic finish.

Works fine on most surfaces but I did have trouble with vellum specifically. Paper and wood were no problem though, stuck well with regular gilding adhesive. The backing makes it easy to cut precise shapes which I really appreciate for my detail work. I mostly use this for decorative borders on certificates and awards for my Etsy shop. Customers love the look and I can usually get 8-10 projects out of one pack depending on how elaborate I get with the designs. Might experiment with different adhesives for vellum work.

Don’t cheap out on the adhesive/sizing. I tried using regular glue at first and it was a mess. Got proper gilding adhesive and everything worked perfectly after that. The flakes themselves are fine quality.
Thomas Bradley –
Applied these to a decorative box about six months ago and they’re starting to show some tarnish. Still look okay but not as bright. Guess I should have sealed them better.
Chris T. –
Was struggling with loose leaf for months before trying patent leaf. Game changer for me, so much less waste.
Patricia –
Maybe I’m just not skilled enough but these kept sticking to my fingers and tearing.
Robert Chen –
Used on pottery. Nice effect.

Used this on canvas and it looked amazing. A little tricky to work with at first but you get the hang of it.
